MINISFORUM B550 Pro teased as new mini
MINISFORUM has announced its latest product, the B550 Pro, only a few days after introducing the Venus UM560XT. For reference, the B550 Pro is not directly related to the Elitemini B550 that MINISFORUM refreshed in September. Instead, the B550 Pro sits within the company's Uranus series, although it also supports desktop GPU expansion.
According to MINISFORUM, the B550 Pro measures 168.7 x 159.7 x 67 mm and has an SFX PSU, as well as PCIe 3.0 x16 and PCIe 3.0 x4 slots. While the former can be used for installing a graphics card, MINISFORUM intends the latter for network card or SSD expansion. In other words, it should be fairly simple to expand the mini-C to create a quasi-gaming PC experience.
The B550 Pro should deliver decent performance in its own right. Supposedly, the mini-PC will support various AMD Ryzen 5000 processors up to the Ryzen 7 5800X3D, an 8-core Vermeer part with a 105 W TDP and 96 MB of 3D V-Cache. Moreover, the B550 Pro will launch with various ports, including DisplayPort, HDMI, USB Type-C and several USB 3.2 Type-A connections.
MINISFORUM states that the B550 Pro will feature two M.2 drive slots too, along with a 2.5-inch bay and dual-channel SODIMM banks for DDR4 RAM. MINISFORUM has not announced a release date or B550 Pro pricing yet. However, you can subscribe for more details within its press release.
