Asus teases ExpertCenter PN65 mini PC with Intel Meteor Lake CPUs
Earlier this year, Asus announced the ExpertCenter PN64-E1 mini PCs powered by up to an Intel i7-13800H Raptor Lake processor, but it looks like these might not be the only models launching this year. According to slides leaked by GMKTec, Asus also plans to release PN53 models with AMD Phoenix Ryzen 7 7840H APUs, and the company already revealed promo materials for a PN65 mini PC with Intel Meteor Lake processors at Computex last week.
The spec sheet tweeted by momomo_us directly compares the upcoming PN65 with the existing PN64-E1, and we can see that the two models are very similar, except for a few notable differences. Asus is not making any changes to the case looking at the provided pictures, so the size will most likely remain 130 x 120 x 58 mm (5.1 x 4.7 x 2.3 inches). However, Asus is looking to upgrade the RAM specs from DDR5-4800 to DDR5-5600, which should provide a considerable performance boost for the 28 W Meteor Lake laptop-grade processors. Liliputing is suggesting that PN65 could feature P-series chips rather than the H-series, as Intel may shift performance targets.
Surprisingly enough, the PN65 specs do not include any Thunderbolt 4 ports. It is highly unlikely that Asus intends to nerf the specs seeing that the chassis is mostly the same. These specs are probably a rough guide and, if anything, Asus may actually include two Thunderbolt 4 ports instead of the USB-C 3.2 Gen 2. The PN65 port selection is otherwise similar to that on the PN64-E1, with 3x USB-A 3.2 Gen 2, 2x USB 2.0, 2x HDMI, an audio jack, 2.5 GbE jack, and a configurable port. Wireless connectivity comes through a Wi-Fi 6 or 6E module with BT 5.2.
Intel is expected to announce the Meteor Lake CPUs this fall and Asus should provide more information regarding price and availability for the PN65 mini PCs by then.
